The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner, James Dashner
This is Carter, hope you find this book enjoyable!

Synopsis: Thomas suddenly wakes up in an odd metal box to find that his entire memory has been wiped. He remembers the basics, such as language, but his parents and where he used to live are a complete mystery to him. He learns that he has been sent to the Maze, a tiny community filled with about 50 teenage boys. He learns that they live in the middle of a giant maze in a place called the Glade. Thomas is  just getting settled in when everything in the glade changes, supplies aren't coming anymore and even crazier, a girl has just been sent to the glade! The Gladers,as they call themselves, must find their way out of the maze before time runs out.

What I thought: A little confusing because you only know what Thomas is told, you don't get any background info, I really liked the book and hope that you do too!

Genre: Dystopian

Length: 400 pages, just enough for me at least

Who's it for: Definitely someone that has experienced reading before. The book is confusing enough that beginners would drop it in a heartbeat

Rading: 4 stars

The book after this, The Scorch Trials is just as good as the first so continue on if you read this one.

  1. Just to add to what you said Carter: It is confusing, definitely. I made the mistake of putting it down and regret it, so I plan to read it soon. But PLEASE try to continue if you start. I know it's a great book.
